Keep your day job until your career takes off!

Keeping your day job while you pursue your career is important. If you don't have money to cover your basic bills, training, and clothes for auditions, then you can't really pursue a career in a healthy way. So, unless you're a trust fund kid, then keep your day job.

Sometimes, you might even have to take a promotion. I was telling one of the guys in my improv class that I was probably going to have to take a promotion. To my shock, he said he did too. And he hates his new job. Lucky me, I like mine well enough.

If you're working in an office or in a restaurant or at Starbucks, keep your day-job. You need it to fund your career.
